Job Description
The Maintenance Supervisor provides oversight, supervision, and direction regarding routine machinery and building repair within Stuttgart Rice Division.
Job Duties
- Maintenance Activities
o To oversee and supervise the ordering of maintenance parts and supplies.
o To maintain proper inventory of critical spare parts as needed.
o To assist the Engineering staff, Maintenance Manager and Department Managers
To evaluate and repair processing/packaging, HVAC, compressed air, fire protection, electrical, water, and related manufacturing and building equipment and systems.
To recommend replacement parts to improve or maintain performance.
To schedule, oversee, and supervise repair activities.
To provide and schedule maintenance and technician staff as necessary to support processing and packaging operations.
o To develop technical proficiency with all facility systems including electrical distribution, HVAC, water, sewer, compressed air, etc.
o To keep informed regarding the development of new technology supporting plant machinery and processes.
o Other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager

Administrative Activities
o To participate in the hiring of maintenance and technician staff
o To work with Department Managers regarding payroll approval, scheduling PTO, or other for maintenance and technician staff.
o To work with Department Managers to evaluate the performance of maintenance and technician staff in their areas.
o To prepare reports on maintenance activities, schedules, or other as needed.
o To budget for equipment repair and replacement

Relationships
o To keep the Engineering Staff, Maintenance Manager and Department Managers informed of the status of maintenance projects and other significant activities and events.
o To keep the maintenance and technician staff informed of changes regarding company policy, training opportunities, and other as needed.
o To work with vendors and contractors as needed to select maintenance parts and schedule outside maintenance assistance.

Education Requirements
- Normal promotion from: Maintenance Crew Foreman
- Education required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Two years vocational / technical school or equivalent experience
- Associate degree in related field
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of rice processing and packaging equipment
